Initial Interview: Inquiries as to your medical history, past and present athletic experiences and present work out routines, if any. This information is valuable to the instructor in assessing your amenability to a variety of instructional approaches.
Fitness Assessment: The instructor will measure your present flexibility, strength and cardio fitness. The instructor will take your blood pressure, resting heart rate, physical measurements and Body Fat Index. The assessment usually takes no more than one half hour and, while it may appear intrusive, it is a mandatory prerequisite for any training program developed by a trainer dictated by a code of ethics. The results are used not only to determine your readiness to exercise, but as a reference point from which to quantify progress throughout the program.
Golf Assessment: will include an analysis of your golf swing and putting posture. This information will be examined to determine your ability to maintain good posture, adequate hip and shoulder rotation, strong static and dynamic stability and good swing sequencing.
Please remember that the instructors’ job is to identify and address problems inherent to fitness issues. If you are involved in lessons with a golf teaching professional, you will be asked for permission for the instructor to work in tandem with him or her. |

Golfers Edge Training: is comprised of three distinct and equally important phases.
- Flexibility training which includes identifying problem muscles and muscle groups that restrict optimal golf mechanics. Specific stretches are selected to restore applicable flexibility. Once the normal range of motion is restored, maintenance is accomplished by a combination of pre-event ands post-event stretching protocols developed by the instructor.
- Functional Exercise training is intended to ensure that you are capable of maintaining static and dynamic stability. Static stability allows you to maintain proper posture at the address, top and end of the swing. Dynamic stability provides for proper form during the back swing, point of impact and follow- through. This training focuses primarily on core development.
- Strength training involves weight and resistance exercises that work those areas of the body whose condition directly detracts or enhances optimal golf performance.
